Winter Fun!
If you are one of those people who say winter is “not for me.” I get it. Winter in colder climates isn’t always fun. It’s cold. It’s wet. In Utah, it seems to last for years. It also makes driving difficult and sometimes you feel like your face might freeze off. How do you fix this? Well, aside from moving to a boring season-less climate, you plan fun wintery activities!
Ever wonder why the first part of winter seems to flash by in about 2 seconds, but after the holidays, winter seems to go on foooooreeeeever (cue Sandlot meme)!? It’s because during that first bit, we are super busy doing all the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years traditions. It might take some thinking and planning, but scheduling a few well-timed winter-themed adventures will make the long part of winter into something everyone looks forward to.
Winter Fun Idea: Sledding & Other Snow Shenanigans!
Compared to many activities, sledding is basically free. It’s fun for kids and adults alike (although, it may be a good idea to talk about sledding safety with the kiddos (and husbands) before you venture out). It’s a good idea to find a snow hill that has a range of difficulty (Jordan Pines for example, ranges from bunny hill to others that should require signing a waiver, haha!). Don’t forget the snowball fights, snow angels, exploration and a fair bit of mischief, as noted in our little video. Hope you like it! Happy wintering!
I would LOVE to hear some of your winter traditions!
