2021 Top 10+ “Cool Dad” Holiday Gift Guide
It’s that time of year, the “Cool Dad” Holiday Gift Guide time of year... Or The time where retail stores start gearing up for the holiday shopping season. With all that’s happened, COVID-19, global shortages, global distribution disruptions… It’s more important than ever for you to get your shopping done sooner rather than later. Gift cards are convenient, however, they lack the personal touch and joy that opening a present wrapped with love can bring.
Though there’s always room for improvement, I feel I’m a pretty cool husband and father and a good source when it comes to gift recommendations for others. With that in mind, I’ve curated the following list. It started as a top 10 list but I kept adding items so it became a top 10+.
Most on the list are products and items I own, however, a few may be on my wishlist or have been recommended by friends. For those that I own, I’d rate each of them a 5-star, thus my recommendation as a Christmas present for the cool husband or father in your life. I understand this list isn’t inclusive of everything out there a cool husband or father may want and encourage you to post your recommendations in the comment section below.
For The Organized Cool Dad
RUX – I was an OG supporter through their crowdfunding campaign and love it. It “packs like a tote, carries like a bag, is easy to store and will keep your gear dry”. It’s recommended for anyone who transports gear or equipment from one location to another. For me, sometimes this is ski gear, camera equipment, or even road trip treats. They also have a fantastic QR/NFC system where you can save your packing list. This is great for finding your gear if you’re using your RUX(s) for storage. I have one, I want 9 more! You can save $$$ by using the following link when you purchase, https://bit.ly/getarux.
Grassracks Rack – I own two Grassracks, The Vercules Bamboo Vertical Ski Wall Rack and the 5 Board Moloka’i Series Bamboo Rack. Both are amazing! So, for that husband or father who likes to keep his boards organized, this is a must-have. I will admit, Grassracks are a little bit more expensive than some other solutions, however, they look amazing and are top quality. They offer racks and mounts to hang a variety of items so definitely check them out. Since 2016 when I ordered my racks, they’ve added a Baltic Birch material option for most. Grassracks has also added Vertical Freestanding and Vertical Wall Mounted Racks, Flush Mounted Snowboard Racks, and Flush Mounted Ski Racks. Those new products have become their best sellers. For The Outdoor Enthusiast Dad
Onewheel – I know I may be old but I’m not that old 😉. I have both a Onewheel XR and Pint and they’re both a blast to ride. Life’s about the ride, not how fast to get to the end and the Onewheel makes that ride a lot more fun. Onewheel’s can be a bit expensive so keep an eye out for sales on onewheel.com. The past several years, there have been some awesome deals around Black Friday/Boxing Day. There’s also SUP Rents that sells low mileage rental and demo boards. From getting the mail to trail riding in the Uinta Mountains, my Onewheel has gone with me. The different models include the Onewheel GT, Onewheel+ XR, Onewheel Pint X, and Onewheel Pint. I’d recommend the Onewheel Pint X as a great first time board for anyone in the market.
Joolca HOTTAP V2 – My family and I love camping. It’s a ton of fun but we tend to get dirty. That might be because we have a toddler, or that we’re too adventurous… Either way, since I purchased my Joolca HOTTAP V2 kit and shower, we bring it with us everywhere we can. The adults love it, kids love it, everyone loves it. There’s nothing like feeling clean while you get to enjoy the great outdoors. You can get $20 off your first order with the following link, https://bit.ly/getjoolca.
Grand Trunk Moab All-In-One Shelter Hammock – Every time I’m in the great outdoors, I set up my Grand Trunk hammock(s). Well, they recently released the Moab All-In-One Shelter Hammock. It’s more than a hammock as “the unique and versatile MOAB can be used as a hammock with built-in canopy, A-frame bivvy, lean-to shelter, tent footprint or sunshade, giving you the ability to face any situation”. The versatility makes this a fantastic gift for the outdoors enthusiast dad. Get your’s by going to https://bit.ly/grandtrunkmoab.
For The Prepper Cool Dad
SEVENTY2® Survival System – This next one I don’t have myself, however, it’s on my own wishlist so I know other outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy it. Uncharted Supply Co. is a Utah-based survival system supplier. The SEVENTY2® Survival System is fantastic for those exploring the wilderness. It’s also a great survival kit that can be kept in a vehicle for future unknowns. They have a few different options and offer other survival gear besides the kits. In the past, there have been good deals on Black Friday. You can order yours by going to https://bit.ly/SEVENTY2.
For The Everyday Cool Dad
30oz Yeti Rambler Tumbler – My 30oz Yeti Tumbler comes with me every day to work. It’s gone with me on nearly every road trip and even to other countries. They’re great for capacity and their ability to keep drinks cold nearly all day long. I will admit, I purchased the additional lid that comes with the straw since I mostly use it for cold drinks and prefer a straw. You can order the 30oz Yeti Rambler Tumbler from Amazon here, https://amzn.to/2YHu4bB.
Ridge Wallet – I got my Ridge Wallet back in October of 2020 and have used it every day since. I was looking for something comfortable for everyday carry (EDC) and this fit the bill (pun intended). It’s offered in a ton of different designs and can expand/contract to fit a lot or a few cards and IDs. I went with the Forged Carbon – Cash Strap option but that’s what’s nice with the Ridge, you can select what option you like. They also block RFID (wireless theft) and are backed by a lifetime warranty. Grab one today for your everyday cool dad and save 10% when you use the following link, https://bit.ly/getaridge.
Kershaw Chive Pocket Knife – It’s always important to have a good pocket knife easily accessible. For those times it’s not possible to have something bigger, the Chive is there for you. At 1.9 inches, you may feel it’s a bit on the small side but I can tell you, it’s one of my most used pocket knives. If you feel your Everyday Cool Dad or father appreciates quality over size, this is the pocket knife for him. It can be ordered by visiting https://amzn.to/3AAlskm.
For the Gadget Dad
Nebula Apollo Mini Projector – I’ve actually used my Nebula Mini Projector most when camping. Because of that, I was torn if I should put it in the Gadget Dad or Outdoors Enthusiast Dad section. Thought it’s a gadget, anyone who camps will love it. It’s not great for a bright day but in the evening or at night, it’s fun to shine on the tent or camper wall and enjoy a movie with the family… in the wilderness. Order here, https://amzn.to/3mujux9.
Apple AirTags – If the husband or father you’re shopping for has an iPhone, I’d highly recommend looking into Apple AirTags. I purchased a four-pack a while back and have one on my keys as well as other important things I want to track… Like my 3-year-old son 😊. I’d recommend the AirTag over others for its increased range and more accurate location tracking. Order your Apple AirTags here, https://amzn.to/3iDLbT7. If you do order AirTags, don’t forget you’ll need a way to connect them to your keys or other items. I have this keychain https://amzn.to/3vRevg7.
Insta360 ONE X2 – This one is a tech gadget that’s definitely for the outdoors enthusiast as well. One of the hardest things when being in the great outdoors is capturing a picture to share with others. That’s where I fell in love with the Insta360 ONE X. I set the camera up on a tripod or hold the invisible selfie stick and capture a picture. Later, I go frame the content just how I want to share it with family and friends. It really is awesome. The ONE X2, it’s now Waterproof to 10m. If your beau likes action cams or taking outdoor photos, this is definitely a gift to consider. You can snag some free accessories order with following link, https://bit.ly/INSTA360ONEX2.
For The Cuddle-up & Stay Cozy Dad
Minky Couture Monster Minky Blanket – It may not sound manly, but every man needs an amazingly comfortable blanket. This is where Minky Couture comes in. I have a monster blanked with my alma mater logo and every other member of the family has one of their own. They all see daily use and love. Your cuddle-up & stay cozy dad may not have asked for a Minky blanket, he may not even know he needs one in his life, but if you get him one as a gift, he and the family will love and use it, guaranteed. You can pick up a Minky Couture Monster Minky Blanket by following the link, https://bit.ly/minkyformen.
For The “I Like to Read” Dad
Vickers Guide Books – The Vickers Guide book collection is an amazingly curated collection of photographs and information about firearms and their history. I’m proud to say I have all eight that have been released and I’m excited to see what Larry and the team at Vickers Guide have for future publications. If you feel the husband or father in your life has everything they want, I can say they don’t know this series exists. It’s a great collection to showcase in a home library, den, or man cave. It is important to note that the printings are limited and they do sell out. You can order by visiting https://bit.ly/vickersguide.
The Terminal List (5 book series) by Jack Carr – The Terminal List is a fantastic series for those who are fans of Jason Bourne and James Bond. Their action-packed and Jack Carr’s experience as a Navy Seal allows him to write with a level of detail and understanding that is often missed by authors in this genre. I own the audiobook as well as the physical copies and recommend them to everyone. You can order them by visiting https://amzn.to/2YGVLBK.
Like I stated above, please let me know if there’s anything not included in this list that should be. Also, let me know if this list helped you in any way. I’d love to hear what you have to say!
