Island Park with the Fam
We Love Island Park!
Here are a few highlights from our latest trip to our family cabin in Island Park, Idaho. We LOVE going here. It’s one of our favorite places on the planet and we go at least twice a year. However, getting all of our planned maintenance finished in a long weekend is not always easy. There is so much to do (fun included) that the days fly by. Every springtime, we have to un-winterize the cabin and get it prepped and ready for a summer of vacation rentals. As hard as it is for us to share our favorite place, we are thrilled that the cabin is booked pretty solid from Memorial Day until the first week of October (if you hurry, you can find a few available dates in there). We are so glad that other people love it as much as we do!
Things To Do
Besides just hanging out at the lake, which is what we do a lot of the time, there are so many awesome things to do nearby. For starters, it’s 45 minutes from West Yellowstone (which is the Idaho side). It’s also just a short drive from gorgeous Mesa Falls and Big Springs (the source of Henry’s Fork). The area is also a hot spot for fly fishing and there are many nearby trails and roads that lead to gorgeous views. Island Park is quite remote, but there is a small grocery store (associated foods), a hardware store, a few restaurants (like subway and Cafe Sabor), gas stations, a bank and even a dinner theatre. If you haven’t been to Island Park, you are severely missing out!
Highlights From the Trip
Breakfast outside is always a good idea.

We took a little drive to Big Springs, the source of Henry’s Fork (part of the Snake River). You can feed rainbow trout here! Can you spot some in the photo below?
We traveled with my brother and his cute family (pictured above). Rhett’s mom came, too. You can find her [trying not to be] in some of the other shots!
You are so talented. We have to get up there sometime! I’ve only driven through Island Park.
Very nice!
